The strips
What is an InstaMed peptide strip?
A thin film, about the size of a postage stamp, that dissolves in your mouth. It carries a measured dose of a peptide or nutrient and releases it through the lining of the mouth, so there is no needle and nothing to swallow whole.
How do I use a strip?
Place one strip on your tongue and let it stick to the roof of your mouth, or tuck it between cheek and gum. Let it dissolve fully. Do not chew it or swallow it whole. Wait 10 to 15 minutes before eating or drinking. Strips work best on an empty stomach, one to two hours away from food.
Where does the strip go: under the tongue or on the cheek?
Any of three places works: the inner cheek (buccal), the roof of the mouth, or under the tongue (sublingual). All three are lined with thin, blood-rich tissue.
How are the strips packaged?
Each strip is sealed in its own tamper-evident sachet, pre-dosed and small enough for a wallet. Boxes hold 20 or 30 strips depending on the product. Intimacy holds 10 because it is taken as needed.
How long do they keep, and do they need a fridge?
InstaMed lists a 24-month shelf life. Store the box at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. No refrigeration is needed.
The science
Why a strip instead of an injection or a capsule?
A capsule goes through the stomach and liver before anything reaches the bloodstream, and peptides break down in the gut. An injection skips that but needs needles, mixing and usually a fridge. A strip releases through the lining of the mouth, which is the same reason some medicines are given under the tongue. It is also the format people keep taking, and a dose you skip does nothing.
Is delivery through the mouth an established route?
Yes. The lining of the mouth has a dense network of small blood vessels just under a thin surface layer. Compounds absorbed there enter circulation without passing through the digestive tract or first-pass liver metabolism. How much of any one peptide is absorbed this way varies by molecule.
What research is InstaMed doing?
InstaMed reports two programs: pharmacokinetic studies with a pharmaceutical development partner to measure onset, absorption rate and bioavailability from the strip, and a collaboration with researchers at the University of Massachusetts tracking blood plasma levels after dosing.
Who is behind the formulation?
InstaMed's science team is led by Dr. Tracy Gibbs, PhD, a pharmacognosist with more than 32 years in oral and mucosal delivery systems, supported by an advisory board of board-certified physicians.
Quality
Where are the strips made?
In the United States, at InstaMed's NSF-certified cGMP facility in Utah. Strips go through stability testing, microbial screening and potency verification, and InstaMed states that every batch has a third-party certificate of analysis.
What else is in a strip?
The film is pullulan, a polysaccharide. β-cyclodextrin helps absorption. Vegetable glycerin helps the strip stick to the mouth lining. Xanthan and arabic gum keep it soft, citric acid prompts saliva to dissolve it, sunflower lecithin binds the actives, and stevia with natural flavors and colors makes it pleasant. The newer boxes are labelled sugar-free, dairy-free, nut-free, gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO.
Safety
Who should not use them?
Do not use the strips if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you take medication or have a medical condition, talk to your healthcare provider first. Stop and seek advice if you have an adverse reaction. These are dietary supplements and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Do I take a strip every day?
It depends on the strip. Vitality, Energy, Klow and Ultratrutide are daily. Beauty, Immune, Rebuild, Strength, Boost and Neuro run five days on, two days off. Sleep and Intimacy are taken as needed. Each product page lists its own schedule and cycle length.
